Roel was born in Lommel on 12 December 1975. He graduated as a carpenter and has an extensive knowledge of metals built up over years of experience. Roel got his first pony at the age of eight. From that day on his entire life has revolved around horses and riding them. In 1988 he got to know his lovely wife Isabelle, who also shares his passion for horses.
At a young age Roel rode at equestrian club LRV where he took part in both jumping and dressage competitions. At the start of 2000 he felt ready for a new challenge and took up Western riding, competition reining and riding for pleasure.
